What is vintage?

Everything sold on Transplant Vintage is from a bygone era. Most of the pieces are deadstock or never worn. Some are gently used with all flaws noted.
Vintage is unique and special because it tells a story. Our pieces may represent a political movement, a specific and monumental time in history or even just a personal story.
Clothing from the 20th century represents quality and slow fashion - a time when clothing was not mass produced, when production was not off-shored, when people had the protection of unions and were paid a proper wage. It was also a time of unique silhouettes, patterns and fabrics.
